Every year, the FISITA World Congress brings together automotive industry experts from all around the world. In May 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was decided to move the planned multi-day congress to 2021. However, developments in the automotive industry are dynamic.
After considering the situation and after making a joint decision with clients, we came up with a solution: To organize a virtual congress for technical experts who need to present the annual results of studies and news in the field. This turned out to be the only possible solution.
A one-day virtual congress/webinar that ran on the CISCO WEBEX platform. The congress was free of charge for the participants. This information was promoted through newsletters and the event website itself, as well as through social media and the FISITA website.
The presentations were divided into 5 short blocks and at the end the participants had the opportunity to take part in a discussion. All content was available to them several months after the end of the event.
The congress was attended by 394 participants from 30 countries. Germany and the Czech Republic had the strongest representation. Over 60 authors presented their studies and new developments in their field. Despite the shortened form of the congress, the event was well received by both participants and lecturers.
