E&E Event 2022

Client: Eurasphalt & Eurobitume (E&E)

CHALLENGE

The second year of the E&E Event 2022 took place in Vienna at the modern and newly renovated Hilton Vienna Park hotel in the city centre. The E&E Event brings together high-ranking executives and professionals from the world of bitumen and asphalt. The event in Vienna continued the concept that was launched in 2018. The congress took place in a hybrid format on 14 and 15 November 2022. The virtual part was held on the gCon platform.

Our biggest challenge in organizing this event was registering participants at the last minute. Two and a half months before the event, we only had 100 registrations. Another 200 participants registered afterwards, most in October 2022.

Solution

Platform – we used the gCon conference platform for the workshops. In addition, online check-in/registration via the TRI app was newly implemented. The app allowed voting on questions live from the floor. The results were then shown on a screen in the hall during the voting process. 250 attendees used the app.

Program – A two-day program with six breakout sessions defined the form of communication in the asphalt industry for event attendees. The entire program was moderated by Peter Woodward.

Entertainment – As part of the social programme, attendees were able to attend a Networking Dinner in the historic Kursalon building. The dinner included a short motivational talk from special guest Mark Beaumont, who among other things holds the Guinness World Record as the fastest person to circumnavigate the planet by bicycle.

RESULT

The congress was attended by 333 specialists from 40 different countries. Europe had the largest representation with 300 specialists.

The event included an extensive exhibition with 17 exhibitor stands. The event was supported by 9 corporate and 9 media partners.
