Introduction:
This year, Prague became the epicenter of European logistics. The FIATA Region Europe Field Meeting 2025 brought together top freight forwarding and logistics professionals from across Europe to discuss solutions to current challenges at both regional and global levels. FIATA, with its long-standing tradition of connecting logistics experts across continents, chose the key theme “Intermodality as the Key to Further Progress in European Logistics.” Intermodality—integrating different modes of transport—represents the path toward more efficient, sustainable, and competitive logistics.
Professional Program:
The opening ceremony took place in the presence of the Czech Minister of Transport, Martin Kupka, FIATA President Turgut Erkeskin, SSL Chairman Vít Votroubek, and FIATA REU Chair Antonella Straulino, who together set the stage for inspiring dialogue across the logistics sector.
The main part of the program focused on global economic outlooks and their impacts on regional transport. Discussions explored how to strengthen the resilience and efficiency of supply chains through intermodal solutions, integration of road, rail, and maritime transport, and optimization of logistics flows. Real-world case studies demonstrated how innovative approaches can become a true competitive advantage.
Sustainability and ecological transformation also played a key role. Debates centered on the use of waterways—particularly the strategic potential of the Danube and Rhine—their contribution to green transport, and their role in connecting European logistics. Topics such as digitalization and technological innovation were also highlighted.
The FIATA REU Field Meeting 2025 provided not only expert insights into current logistics challenges but also a valuable space for networking, inspiration, and the exchange of concrete solutions shaping the future of European transport infrastructure.
Social Program:
The event concluded with a festive Gala Dinner at the Pilsner Beer House, offering participants the opportunity to enjoy traditional Czech cuisine and the unique atmosphere of Prague’s historic Municipal House—one of the city’s iconic Art Deco landmarks. The following day, delegates had the chance to join excursions around Prague and its surroundings, exploring key logistics and cultural sites.
Conclusion:
This year, Prague truly became the heart of European logistics—a place where regional experience met global vision and where tangible solutions emerged for a more efficient, sustainable, and competitive logistics sector. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all participants, especially our organizing team led by Klára Šírcová.
