On November 28–29, 2024, the third annual interdisciplinary congress on airway diagnostics and intervention (DIDC 2024) took place in the heart of Prague at the City Conference Center. The event attracted top experts from the fields of pulmonology, anesthesiology, and thoracic surgery. This congress is not just about lectures and presentations; it serves as a dynamic platform for exchanging experiences and inspiring each other in the field of airway care.

The congress focused on a diverse range of topics—from new diagnostic technologies to innovative interventional methods. The program meticulously prepared by the organizing committee consisting of Assoc. Prof. Jiří Votruba, M.D., Ph.D., Prof. Robert Lischke, M.D., Ph.D., Prof. Pavel Michálek, M.D., Ph.D., D.E.S.A., M.Sc., and Assoc. Prof. Milada Zemanová, M.D., Ph.D., offered participants not only valuable theoretical knowledge but also the opportunity to practice hands-on skills in interactive workshops.

The workshops, held on Thursday and Friday evenings, provided participants with a practical perspective on modern techniques—from navigational methods in bronchoscopy to advanced airway management. They focused on implantation, recanalization, cryotherapy, and stenting, offering valuable hands-on experience for daily clinical practice.

The congress also featured a dedicated nursing section. This section has become an essential part of the event, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in ensuring high-quality patient care.

DIDC 2024 once again demonstrated that interdisciplinary cooperation is not just a trend but a necessity for delivering the highest standard of care. Thanks to the precise organization by Kristýna Bernerová and her team, the congress ran smoothly and reaffirmed its significance as an indispensable forum for airway specialists.
