One of the last events of 2023 was the 31st Annual Conference of the CAVLMZ, which took place on 2-3 December 2023 at the O2 Universum in Prague with a pre-conference day on 1 December 2023. The conference attracted more than 450 veterinarians and nurses with a focus on small animals to Prague. This year’s event was also open to canine visitors who were a welcome addition to the participants.
The rich professional programme included lectures that took place in five parallel halls and covered both the latest knowledge and basic schemes in diagnostic and therapeutic approach in the spirit of the “Back to Basics” project, aiming not to neglect the level of basic veterinary knowledge and skills. The programme also included two lunchtime symposia by partners. Among this year’s topics were atopic dermatitis, reconstructive surgery, diagnosis of zoonotic parasites, as well as a session for nurses on topics such as bitch pregnancy and dog education.
The CAVLMZ conference attracted a large number of partners and exhibitors. The platinum partner of the conference this year was the company
M+H VET s. r. o. The general partner of the association was again the company PetExpert. This year, the exhibition could also be visited by the non-expert public to see the products offered by the companies. Next year we want to continue with this novelty.
We cannot imagine any event without networking and a social evening. The traditional Saturday social evening, this year with live music in the Občanská Plovárna, took place as part of the CAVLMZ conference. The participants enjoyed delicious Czech cuisine and especially enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere among their colleagues. The evening programme was additionally enriched by an auction of paintings and photos from the trips, the proceeds of which will support the charity organization Vets Without Borders.
Our thanks go to the CAVLMZ Association, all the participants, speakers, partners and exhibitors who contributed to the event and made it another wonderful event that will be remembered with a smile. Thanks also go, of course, to our project team, led for the umpteenth time by Marcela Rajtorová.
