Annual Congress of the Czech Neurosurgical Society ČLS JEP

In the first half of November (8-10 November 2023), neurosurgeons from all over the Czech Republic gathered in Hradec Králové to meet their colleagues again after a year and gain new experience and knowledge during the Annual Congress of the Czech Neurosurgical Society ČLS JEP. The Congress took place in the EA Congress Hotel Aldis, located in the city centre.

This prestigious event brought the latest innovations in neurosurgery to the forefront and promoted the importance of collaboration between professionals.

One of the main points of the congress was the presentation of new technologies and methods in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases. Representatives of medical societies and research institutions presented the latest devices that improve the accuracy of diagnosis and minimize risks in surgical procedures. They also discussed the development of robotic surgery and the possibilities it brings to the field of neurosurgery. Another important aspect of the congress was the collaboration between experts from different disciplines. Neurosurgeons, neurologists, oncologists, radiologists and other specialists met to discuss a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases. This collaboration is key to achieving optimal outcomes and improving patient care. During the congress, cases of patients who have successfully recovered after neurosurgery were also presented. These stories served as an inspiration for further work of the professionals and showed the importance and relevance of their work.

The congress was attended, among others, by international guests from renowned European and international institutions including Prof. Sébastien Froelich, MD, PhD, Professor and Head of the Neurosurgery Department at the Hospital in Paris or Fady T. Charbel, MD, FAANS, FACS, who is an internationally recognized clinical expert in cerebral revascularization.

In addition to expert lectures and discussions, attendees also had the opportunity to visit the exhibition with 23 partners and exhibitors who specialize in the manufacture and distribution of neurosurgical devices and equipment. Here participants could see the latest technologies and get practical information from experts in the field.

The congress also provided ample space for networking. On the first evening, a welcome meeting of experts was held at the Aldis Hotel. On thursday evening, a rich programme was prepared for the participants. Firstly, the participants were transported by bus to the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, where they listened to a concert performed by Jiří Stivín & Václav Uhlíř, then they moved to the unique PETROF Gallery, where a social evening with a buffet dinner was awaiting them, accompanied by the music of the PETROF Gang.

The Annual Congress of the Czech Neurosurgical Society of the Czech Society of Neurosurgery proved to be a successful and inspiring meeting of more than 200 professionals in the field of neurosurgery. The innovations presented and the promotion of collaboration promise to advance the care of patients with neurological diseases. We are already looking forward to the next edition of this important congress, which will be held in Liberec from 20 to 22 November 2024.

Finally, we would like to thank our clients from the Neurosurgery Clinic of the Hradec Kralove University Hospital and Faculty of Medicine, speakers, participants, partners and exhibitors for another wonderful edition.
