With the support of the International Tunneling Association ITA-AITES, ISSMGE, and ISRM, we had the opportunity to organize the 15th international conference Underground Construction Prague 2023.

This conference is held regularly every 3 years in Prague, but due to the pandemic situation, this year’s conference was postponed by a year.

The conference was held on May 29-31, 2023 at the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague in Vysočany, which is suitable both for its location and its services for events of this size.
During the three days, the participants of the international tunneling conference in the Czech Republic could enjoy a busy program. The conference itself was already preceded on Sunday, May 28 by an accompanying course on BIM – everything you wanted to know, but were afraid to ask.
On Monday, the conference started with an opening ceremony, followed by expert lectures, discussions, and other sections. This varied day was rounded off with a social evening at the Břevnov Monastery, which was included in the registration fee for all delegates attending.
On Tuesday, the conference continued with a professional program with other interesting sections.
The last day of the conference was traditionally dedicated to technical excursions, thanks to which tunneling enthusiasts and experts could gain not only theoretical knowledge but also practical ones.

A total of 5 technical excursions to underground structures in and around Prague were prepared for them. They could choose from two excursions of the currently minted new route of the Prague underground D, as well as excursions to the Main Transport Control Centre, the Richard Radioactive Waste Repository, or Rudolf’s Adit + the old sewage treatment plant in Bubenč.

The expertise of the conference is confirmed by a three-point evaluation within the framework of the CKAIT lifelong learning.

The conference attracted a total of 546 participants from 30 countries.

Part of the conference Underground Construction Prague 2023 was an exhibition at which 108 exhibitors presented. The conference was supported by a total of 38 companies and partners, to whom we are very grateful for their support of this professional event.
