The 40th Congress of the Czech Society of Nephrology (ČNS) was held from 12th to 14th June 2024 at the Cubex Centre in Pankrác, Prague. It was attended by 600 participants.
The congress attracted leading domestic and international experts in the field of nephrology, who presented the latest findings in fields such as clinical nephrology, dialysis therapy, transplantation, haemodialysis and paediatric nephrology.
Doctors, nurses and technicians also presented their experiences and insights in the form of e-posters. Moderated discussions took place and participants could also view the e-posters on the congress mobile app or via the congress platform on the website.
Sustainable Congress
The 40th ČNS Congress set a goal of sustainability and an emphasis on an ecological approach, and this was reflected in many aspects of the Congress:
- minimizing printed materials (electronic certificates, QR code tickets)
- use of the congress mobile app and congress platform (programme, posters, certificates, etc.)
- reduction of food waste
- waste monitoring, sorting and recycling
The congress organisers also invited participants to help reduce the environmental impact of their participation
- by using sustainable travel to attend the congress
- limiting the distribution of leaflets or other printed materials
- using a mobile app to create a personalised programme
- preventing food waste
- applying waste sorting
The 40th Jubilee Congress was evaluated very positively due to the high professional level of presentations and the opportunity to exchange experiences among the participants.
Thanks to the project manager Renata Somolová and the whole implementation team. Together they proved that organising a large event with respect to the environment is not only possible but also inspiring.
