Introduction
The Pôrod na Slovensku 2025 conference, held on October 16–18, 2025, at the NH Bratislava Gate One Hotel, offered a three-day professional program focused on current challenges in obstetrics and perinatal care. Leading experts from Slovakia and the Czech Republic came together to explore topics ranging from acute situations in the delivery room to sensitive communication with parents in crisis. From the very beginning, the conference combined high professional standards with an open and friendly atmosphere.
Parents were also taken into account — a children’s corner was available, ensuring kids were well cared for while their parents discussed the future of maternity care. Medical and nursing students were also present, given a unique opportunity to learn directly from top professionals in practice.
Professional Program
The opening day featured intensive workshops held across Bratislava. Participants practiced suturing birth injuries on pig models, trained crisis communication, learned proper positioning of women after cesarean section, and simulated shoulder dystocia and fetal extraction.
The following two days expanded into a wide professional spectrum: from high-risk births, sepsis, and newborn resuscitation to legal case studies and international experiences from the Netherlands, Austria, and Chad. Each session was dynamic, well-paced, and concluded with a clear takeaway — practical lessons applicable in real clinical work.
Networking
Beyond lectures and workshops, the social program offered space for informal exchange and networking. Discussions focused not only on professional topics but also on interdisciplinary cooperation and translating knowledge into clinical practice.
The conference format combined classic lectures with experiential workshops and simulations, characteristic of modern hybrid professional events that integrate education, networking, and hands-on training.
Conclusion
Pôrod na Slovensku 2025 was more than just a conference — it was a statement. A clear demonstration that modern obstetrics can be professional, humane, and respectful all at once. Participants left with their minds full of new insights and a strong sense of belonging to a community striving to advance care for women and children. We look forward to the next edition.
