From 31 May to 2 June, the 84th Congress of the Czech Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery ČLS JEP took place in České Budějovice. The venue of the conference was the Clarion Congress Hotel in České Budějovice, where the participants also had the opportunity to accommodate themselves. The Clarion Hotel is a modern four-star hotel with a wide range of meeting rooms that provided adequate facilities for the congress. In addition, the hotel is located close to the historical centre of the city.

The main theme of this year’s congress was rhinology and laryngology. The scientific part of the conference was prepared with the help of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery of the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and Faculty Hospital Motol in Prague. The participants of the congress could therefore look forward to a programme full of panel discussions led by leading experts and didactic instructional courses.

The first day of the congress started with instructional courses focused on various professional topics. This was followed by round table discussions, free papers as well as an e-poster session. The day ended with the Opening Ceremony of the Congress, which took place directly at the Congress venue, the Clarion Congress Hotel České Budějovice.

The second day of the conference continued in the same spirit from early morning. In addition, two lunch symposia and a practical workshop were held on this day.

In the evening, a social programme was prepared for the participants at the Riding Hall in Český Krumlov.  The Riding Hall was built between 1744 and 1746 in the Viennese Rococo style during the reign of Prince Joseph Adam of Schwarzenberg. The participants were transported by 8 buses without any problems.

In addition to delicious food, two bands performed in the interesting premises of The Castle Riding Hall. The first band to perform on this evening was the band Corso Beat with members directly from Český Krumlov. The second band was B.lues, some of whose members are also doctors.  During the social evening, a surprise was prepared for the participants in the form of baroque fireworks. There was also a beautiful view of Český Krumlov at night near the Castle Riding Hall.

On the last day of the congress, a similar professional programme was held and in the afternoon there was an award ceremony and the official closing of the congress.

The varied exhibition was attended by 30 exhibitors. Furthermore, the event was financially supported by 14 partners and 2 media partners, whom we would like to thank for their support.

At the same time, we would like to thank all those who contributed to the organization of the congress, namely the congress speakers, participants and presenters. Last but not least, we would like to thank the GUARANT International realization team led by Anna Pražáková, who made the event a great success.
