Date: 2–4 October 2025 Venue: Aldis Congress Centre, Hradec Králové
Project Manager: Petra Závodná
Introduction:
From 2–4 October 2025, Hradec Králové became the centre of the vaccinology community. Hradec Vaccinology Days attracted experts from across the Czech Republic and abroad, who shared their experience, knowledge and innovations in the field of vaccination. This year's edition featured numerous discussions, workshops and inspiring meetings supporting the development of immunisation practice.
Main Programme:
The three-day scientific programme included satellite symposia organised by Sanofi, Merck, GlaxoSmithKline and Pfizer. Participants learned about the latest developments in vaccination against RSV, pneumococcal infections, invasive meningococcal disease (IMD), tick-borne encephalitis and COVID-19, while also sharing experiences from both paediatric and adult clinical practice. The programme also featured personal stories from parents and healthcare professionals, providing an authentic perspective on the impact of vaccination in real life. A ceremonial highlight of the programme was the launch of the book Vaccination of Children. In addition, the programme included a moderated poster session and discussions on the development of vaccination strategies, historical milestones and current challenges in Czech and Slovak immunisation.
Cultural and Social Programme:
Hradec Vaccinology Days 2025 also offered a rich social programme. The opening gathering of experts at the EA Congress Hotel Aldis provided an opportunity for the first informal discussions. Friday afternoon was enriched by the Congress Run through the streets of Hradec Králové, a guided tour of the White Tower and an organ concert in the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit. The highlight was the anniversary congress evening held at Karlova Koruna Castle in Chlumec nad Cidlinou, where participants enjoyed live music performed by Gurmania Band, a festive buffet and networking in a friendly atmosphere.
Conclusion:
Hradec Vaccinology Days 2025 confirmed that Hradec Králové is rightly considered the cradle of Czech vaccinology. The gathering of experts, physicians and scientists provided valuable insights, inspiration and new impulses for the further development of immunisation practice and for strengthening public confidence in vaccination.
