Fifteen Years of Trust: The Story Behind Hradec Králové Vaccinology Days

A successful congress is built not only on an attractive programme, but also on solid foundations and mutual trust between the client and the organiser. A textbook example of such a partnership is our collaboration with the Czech Vaccinological Society of the Czech Medical Association (ČLS JEP) on organising the prestigious Hradec Králové Vaccinology Days (HVD).

Last year, this significant congress celebrated its 20th anniversary. On this occasion, we prepared a historical retrospective for the client, which fully revealed how far we have come together. The GUARANT International team has been standing alongside the organisers continuously since the 6th edition in 2010.

Stability Even in Challenging Times
Managing such a narrowly specialised medical event for more than 15 years (with the sole exception of the pandemic year 2020) has allowed us to witness the evolution of the entire field. In the very first year of our collaboration (2010), the Aldis Congress Centre welcomed 432 participants. This was followed by exceptionally strong years, during which attendance consistently remained well above 500 – with the all-time record set in 2014, with an impressive 570 delegates.
The strength of our long-term partnership was further demonstrated in the post-COVID period, when we successfully worked together with the client, Prof. Roman Chlíbek, MD, Ph.D., to bring the event back to a fully in-person format. Today, HVD enjoys a stable attendance of over 400 specialists per year. Over the entire course of our collaboration, we have proudly welcomed nearly 7,000 participants in Hradec Králové and the surrounding region.

From the Philharmonic to a Castle
A key component of every edition is the careful selection of venues for the social programme. Thanks to our thorough knowledge of the region, we continue to surprise both the client and the delegates.
Over the past decade and a half, we have organised the Annual Congress Dinners at many exceptional venues. Delegates have had the opportunity to forge and develop professional relationships in the unique spaces of PETROF Gallery, the Hradec Králové Philharmonic, the historic Museum of East Bohemia, the art-house Bio Central cinema, and even the noble Riding Hall of the Kinský family at Karlova Koruna Castle in Chlumec nad Cidlinou. It is precisely this variety and the ability to continuously innovate the event's format that is one of the key reasons our client returns to us year after year.

Looking Ahead
To mark last year's anniversary, we also prepared a special graphic collage featuring all the cover pages of the scientific programmes and abstract books. This visual cross-section of history illustrates very well how HVD has evolved and modernised over the years.

Our work on the Hradec Králové Vaccinology Days is a prime example of how effectively things run when an organiser truly understands the needs of both the scientific committee and the participants themselves. We thank the Czech Vaccinological Society of the Czech Medical Association for fifteen years of trust. And because we never stand still, our entire team, led by long-standing Project Manager Petra Závodná, is already hard at work preparing the upcoming 21st edition, taking place from 1 to 3 October 2026. We look forward to many more shared chapters!
