Introduction: This year, Prague became the epicentre of European logistics. The FIATA-Region Europe Field Meeting 2025 brought together leading figures from the freight forwarding and logistics sector in the heart of Europe to seek answers to current challenges ranging from regional to global level. FIATA, which has a long-standing tradition of connecting professionals across continents, focused this year on the key theme: “Intermodality as the Key to Further Progress in European Logistics.” Intermodality – the integration of different modes of transport – represents the path towards more efficient, sustainable and competitive logistics.

Scientific Programme: The official opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Transport of the Czech Republic, Martin Kupka, FIATA President Turgut Erkeskin, SSL Chairman Vít Votroubek and FIATA REU Chair Antonella Straulino, who jointly opened the floor for an inspiring dialogue across the logistics sector. The main programme focused on global economic outlooks and their impact on regional transport. Discussions explored opportunities to strengthen the resilience and efficiency of supply chains through intermodal solutions, the integration of road, rail and maritime transport, and the optimisation of logistics flows. Practical case studies were also presented, demonstrating how innovative approaches can be transformed into a genuine competitive advantage. Sustainability and environmental transformation also played a significant role throughout the programme. Discussions focused on the use of inland waterways, particularly the strategic potential of the Danube and Rhine rivers, their contribution to environmentally friendly transport and their role in connecting European logistics networks. Digitalisation and technological innovation were also among the key topics addressed. The FIATA-REU Field Meeting 2025 therefore provided not only valuable professional insights into current logistics challenges, but also an excellent platform for networking, inspiration and the search for practical solutions that may shape the future of European transport infrastructure.

Social Programme: The programme concluded with a festive Gala Dinner at the Pilsner Beer House, offering participants a unique opportunity to experience traditional Czech cuisine and the atmosphere of Prague’s historic Municipal House, one of the city's iconic Art Deco landmarks. The following day, delegates had the opportunity to take part in excursions around Prague and its surroundings, exploring important logistics facilities as well as cultural landmarks. Conclusion: This year, Prague truly became the epicentre of European logistics, bringing together regional experience and global vision while fostering practical solutions for more efficient, sustainable and competitive logistics.
