Aesthetics and Medicine 3.0: O2 universum hosted the 13th Congress of Aesthetic and Laser Medicine
Venue: O2 universum, Prague
Date: 5–6 June 2026
Project Manager: Ing. Romana Zvěřinová
INTRODUCTION
Aesthetic medicine today is an exceptionally dynamic and highly competitive discipline. Specialists who wish to offer their patients cutting-edge care must constantly keep abreast of the latest scientific and technological trends. It was precisely in this spirit that the 13th Congress of Aesthetic and Laser Medicine took place, filling the modern premises of Prague’s O2 universum in early June. The event, under the professional auspices of the Society for Aesthetic and Laser Medicine of the Czech Medical Association of J. E. Purkyně (ČLS JEP) led by Assoc. Prof. MUDr. Roman Šmucler, CSc., reaffirmed its position as the largest and most important event of its kind in Central Europe.
PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMME
The congress programme was spread over two intensive days and covered a comprehensive range of current topics. The central theme was “Medicine 3.0”, with an emphasis on longevity – extending life in good health. Experts discussed trends such as comprehensive obesity therapy using GLP-1 agonists, the use of exosomes in regenerative medicine, and modern approaches in plastic surgery. The exceptional standard of the event was underlined by a strong line-up of international speakers, including experts such as Prof. Dr Tunç Tiryaki from London and Dr Maximilian Otte from Stockholm. The programme also addressed challenging topics from everyday practice – sessions on legislation and managing challenging patients were particularly well received. In addition, the specialist lectures were complemented by the region's largest industry exhibition.
Saturday’s programme was rounded off by a session entitled “AI and Health – Practical Workshop”, led by Assoc. Prof. Roman Šmucler and Marek Bartoš. Participants had the opportunity to explore practical applications of artificial intelligence, such as translating medical reports into accessible text, creating personalised educational materials, or visualising the results of aesthetic procedures.
SOCIAL EVENING AND NETWORKING
Top-tier education also requires a high-quality setting for sharing experiences. Friday’s social evening took participants to the historic Hergetova Cihelna in Malá Strana. In the unique setting of the BRICK's restaurant, with its romantic view of Charles Bridge and the flowing Vltava River, delegates had the ideal opportunity to forge new professional relationships. DJ and saxophonist Saxofrancis provided the unforgettable atmosphere of the summer evening.
CONCLUSION
The 13th edition of the Congress of Aesthetic and Laser Medicine demonstrated that the combination of precise science, modern technology and the art of medicine opens up entirely new dimensions for the field. The academic scope, strong international participation and impeccable facilities of O2 universum created an event of the highest European standards.
We would like to thank the Society for Aesthetic and Laser Medicine of the Czech Medical Association of J. E. Purkyně for the trust placed in us, as well as all the speakers and participants. The smooth and professional running of this logistically demanding event would not have been possible without the meticulous work of the GUARANT International organising team, led by project manager Romana Zvěřinová. We are already looking forward to seeing you at next year’s event, which will take place on 11–12 June 2027.
