E&E 2022

Challenge

The second edition of the E&E Event 2022 took place in Vienna at the modern and newly renovated Hilton Vienna Park hotel in the city center. E&E Event connects senior managers and professionals from the bitumen and asphalt industry. The Vienna event continued the concept launched in 2018. The congress was held in a hybrid format on 14–15 November 2022. The virtual part took place on the gCon platform. Our biggest challenge in organizing this event was last-minute participant registration. Two and a half months before the event, we had only 100 registrations. Another 200 participants registered later, with the majority in October 2022.

Solution

Platform – For the workshops, we used the gCon conference platform. Additionally, a new online check-in/registration was implemented via the TRI app. The app allowed participants to vote on questions live from the hall. The results were then displayed on the screen in the hall during the voting. The app was used by 250 participants of the event. Program – A two-day program with six sessions was prepared for the participants, defining the communication format within the asphalt industry. The entire program was moderated by Peter Woodward. Entertainment – As part of the social program, participants could attend a Networking Dinner in the historic Kursalon building. The dinner included a short motivational talk by special guest Mark Beaumont, who, among other achievements, holds the Guinness World Record as the fastest person to cycle around the world.

Result

The congress was attended by 333 professionals from 40 different countries worldwide. Europe had the largest representation, with 300 professionals. The event also featured a large exhibition with 17 exhibitor booths. The event was supported by 9 corporate and 9 media partners.
